On the Wilkerson side I have Thomas and his son William.

You cannot see attachments on this board.

You cannot see attachments on this board.

They came to Utah with the Robert Wimmer Company in 1852:

My direct lineage to these early Mormon pioneers is the following:

My father:  Richard C. Wilkerson

My Grandfather:  Woodford Workman Wilkerson (1916 - 2013)

My Great Grandfather:  Joseph Benjamin Wilkerson (1872 - 1941)

My Great-Great Grandfather:  William Wilkerson (1828 - 1906)

My Great-Great-Great Grandfather:  Thomas Wilkerson (1797 - 1882)

I'm also a bit of genealogy buff and it is very interesting for me to see how deep my own Mormon roots are.  My namesake is Isaac Nathaniel Workman (1862-1925).  He is my great-great grandfather:

https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/43774244/isaac-nathaniel-workman

He is the son of Jacob Lindsay Workman and Rebecca Willard Turner.  Rebecca was the third (polygamous) wife of Jacob:

https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/52155/jacob-lindsay-workman

I found this little gem buried at the bottom of the story at the link above:

"When the Mormons left Nauvoo Jacob was a captain of ten in Lorenzo Snow's company. Somewhere along the way one of his sons became ill, laid down by the roadside and was left behind. When it was discovered that the boy was missing John Doyle Lee unhitched a team and gave him a horse to ride in his search. He found he boy lying in the open prairie, returned the horse and wept with joy."

So it would seem that Jacob probably knew John D. Lee quite well.  As it turns out my wife (Cynthia) is a direct descendant of John D. Lee, (through Samuel G. Lee - https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/21607363/samuel-gully-lee).  So I guess me and my wife's descendants were friends long before we ever came along.

I've started a new podcast where I will be discussing things other than my plugins.  I just posted my first episode:

Arguably this first episode probably is not of much interest to many of you, unless you are of the LDS faith or know me on a more personal level.  Most of my extended family and many friends are active members in the "Church" so whether I like it or not the Mormon Church is still very much a part of my life and a part of my family history (going back five generations).  Of course my wife and I and our children are not active members in the Church anymore, it is too hard to live a lie, so to speak.  However we do respect the religious choices that our family and friends make in remaining with the Church and whatever level of activity they choose to participate at.

Tutorial 29: Vertical Offset of Sheathing and Cladding (13:26 min.)

#95
Version 3.3.5 - 10.06.2023
- Sheathing Vertical Offset parameters added for common and monopitch trusses.
- Cladding Vertical Offset parameters added for common and monopitch trusses.

By customer request.

This feature is already implemented within the Wall plugin so it is about time that I bring the Truss plugin up to speed as well.  I think these four parameters are self explanatory enough that I don't need a tutorial video but if I do please let me know.
#96
Version 1.3.6 - 10.04.2023
- Added an offset parameter (advanced options) for outlets which allows the symbol and label to be offset from the wall.
- Added two additional advanced parameters for vertically offsetting text and symbols for switches and outlets.

The text and symbol vertical offsets are driven by the global settings however these two parameters can now be adjusted separately for each individual outlet or switch.

This update is per customer request.

Medeek Truss Plugin / Re: Timber Truss Creation Bug
September 22, 2023, 07:32:23 AM
I'm wondering if this has to do with the modal bug in SU 2023.  What happens if you update SU to the latest version:  2023.1?
#105
Version 3.3.3 - 09.22.2023
- Improved the responsiveness of the "Edit Roof Plane" tool and the "Move Roof Edge" tool for complex roofs.

Previously when a complex roof was positioned on top of any wall assemblies and either of the two tools mentioned above were executed there existed the possibility of collinear edges with the roof assembly and the wall assemblies below.  This conflict would then not allow one to properly select the desired roof edge unless the wall assemblies were hidden, or put on a hidden tag/layer.  This fix should mitigate that problem and allow one to select a roof edge (on the roof outline) without having to take that additional step.

I highly recommend upgrading to this latest version if you are using complex roofs.
