I haven't revisited this image in a few years but I still need to put together a complex porch roof module:



Time to put the old thinking cap back on.

As I look at this image from about 8 years ago, when I was just starting the Truss plugin, two things immediately jump out at me. Everything can be quickly modeled now except for:

1.) The porch rafter roof (complex shed roof with hipped ends)
2.) The opening in the floor for the stairwell

Obviously my work is not yet complete.

The funny thing is that I added the hummingbird framed art back in June (2024) as an Easter Egg but I guess no one noticed, or at least no one ever messaged me about it so I guess it went undetected.  I've also added in a decent wall clock as well for those needing a wall clock mounted in a room.

Decided to take a much needed break from the code today and did some other misc. tasks.  This one just kind of popped up on my radar so I figured I would add a few more framed prints.

As far as using the artwork in any of your projects, so long as you hold a licensed copy of the Medeek Electrical plugin you are authorized to use my artwork in any personal or professional projects you see fit.  My only request is that if you do decide to use the artwork, please give attribution where possible and applicable.

I've started working on adding in a scissor truss option into the module. Here are some quick and dirty (sorry I must have set my lunch down on my engineering pad earlier today) calcs for the heel joint of such a truss:

Still putting out a few little fires.  Whenever you make big changes it always seems like you miss something or you add a new feature that adds a whole new level of complexity, and then the plugin gets itself into states that you did not foresee.  That is what makes this job fun, you get surprised once in a while.

These additional variants added per customer request.  They are the exact same as the similar sized units other than the addition of the weather guard top.  Hopefully this gives enough selection for typical residential AC units however if there is need for any other styles etc... please let me know.

mdkBIM Renewals - UPDATE (Feb. 8, 2025)

For those who can not be bothered to renew each license separately, I have come up with a solution finally. If you are mdkBIM license holder (ie. you have all five licenses - Wall, Truss, Floor, Foundation, and Project) you will now notice that when you click on the mdkBIM icon in the Account Manager on the Medeek website that the renewal price will appear instead of the regular "new" price. In other words you can purchase a new mdkBIM bundle (all five licenses) at the renewal price.

Note, that this is technically not a renewal of any of your licenses, it simply allows you to purchase new licenses at the discounted (renewal) price. For those who are wanting to sync up all their licenses to the same renewal date this is a convenient solution. However, note that if time is remaining on any existing licenses it is not applied to the new licenses.
