I will give this some consideration.  I have been working on the stair module for a couple weeks but I will get back to the Floor plugin after the new year and be working on MPC trusses and the opening tool then address any other items on the todo list.

Hi Nathaniel,

I noticed that the Medeek Truss plugin can create a BCI / TJI floor that is inset within a foundation.  However, the feature appears to only support rectangular arrangements - at least I haven't found a polyline option.

I really like the new Medeek Floor plugin and would up-vote a request for adding a "inset within foundation" feature.

Thanks again for all of your great work!

Medeek Truss Plugin / Intersecting Gables
Last post by brianbolt - December 26, 2024, 08:11:25 AM
Firstly, I'd like to express my gratitude to the Medeek Team for developing such an impressive suite of plugins. The sheer range of resources available for foundations, slabs, walls, floors, and trusses is remarkable. I've watched several YouTube training videos and even imported custom siding textures to match the color of our existing house, which has been a great experience.

Most recently, I've been working on designing a new shed. Everything has been going smoothly until I encountered some challenges with a portion of the roof where two gables intersect at a 90-degree angle. I've had some success using the trim and extend tools after inserting perpendicular Fink truss runs, but this method doesn't produce the necessary valley or hip trusses.

I'd greatly appreciate any advice on how to approach this seemingly straightforward yet puzzling issue. Thank you once again for your dedication and effort in maintaining these invaluable tools!

So this is currently a specific limitation when it comes to handrails:

The issue here is that each run of stairs literally needs it own handrail sub-menu (set of parameters). Globally the handrail options are fine but as soon as you start adding landings you then have multiple stair runs and it quickly gets complicated. Note that the same handrail settings get applied to each run of stairs currently, this is less than desirable with complex stairs.

Of course the workaround for this is to not rely on the automatic landing functionality and create each separate run of stairs as a separate assembly (linear stair runs only). However this negates the convenience of having the landing and winder options that I recently added.

Yes, I'm a bit in the weeds now but I want this new handrail system to be as functional and fully featured and efficient as possible. I will need to put on my thinking cap and come up with a viable solution that is not too complicated (for a complex problem).
